Leaders, watch out for these 8 warning signs that you need to hire a Chief of Staff:
Your calendar is full of back-to-back meetings
Your to-do list is a mile long
You spend your time on tasks that drain your energy
You’re on the verge of burnout
You don’t have the mindshare to think strategically
Your physical and mental health is taking a toll
You’re becoming a decision bottleneck
You’re not having fun on the job anymore
For each of the statements above, count up how many are true. Take a look at the key below.
1-2 flags = Amber zone
3-4 flags = Red zone
5-8 flags = Danger zone!
If you’re in the red zone, consider hiring a Chief of Staff. If you’re in the danger zone, you must act now otherwise catastrophic things will happen to you and your organization!
