Help your CEO exceed their goals
Define your CEO Office's vision & mission
Chiefs of Staff: what’s 1 big secret to exceeding your CEO’s goals beyond their wildest dreams? Create a vision & mission statement for your Office of the CEO.
Over the course of my research, it’s shocking to hear how many CEO Office teams don’t have a clear understanding of their ultimate objective.
By uniting your Office of the CEO team around a common vision & mission, you can point everyone in the right direction.
The best teams write the vision & mission down and return to it regularly. So what’s yours?
Your vision could be your CEO who is fast & fearless, who operates with modern ways of working, and uncovers an authentic leadership style.
Or it could be your CEO who is visionary & creative, who pushes their industry to new innovation, with an imaginative leadership style.
Your mission could be to amplify your CEO’s impact, to create a strong leadership team and to develop a healthy organization with a strong operating model.
Or it could be to increase your CEO’s effectiveness, to develop a strong C-suite team, and to promote a strong culture at your company.
But defining a vision & mission takes work from your CEO. It takes reflection and courage to take a stand to define who your CEO wants to be as a person and what type of company they want to lead.
So Chiefs of Staff, here’s your call to action.
Tell your CEO that you want to take some time this weekend to reflect and then facilitate a meeting with your Office of the CEO team to workshop your unique vision & mission.
Memorialize this by writing it down, use it to inspire your team when morale is low, and refer back to it every 3 months during your quarterly review.
Watch your CEO turn into the CEO that they’ve always wanted to become, leading an A+ leadership team with a stellar employee workforce.
